Description
The SylWrap Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit is a specialist kit which makes multiple permanent repairs to cracked cast iron and plastic waste pipes, even when water is leaking through.
It has been designed for facilities management teams, drain repair companies and other end-users to repair waste, drain and soil pipes in public, commercial and residential buildings.
These include hospitals, office blocks, leisure centres, car parks and other facilities featuring cast iron and plastic pipework.
Repairs can be made in under 30 minutes to pipe diameters between 32mm and 150mm. The Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit comes in a robust red case which is easy to store on-site or on a van, minimising disruption by enabling rapid response to new leaks.

SylWrap Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit Details – How to seal cracks in cast iron and plastic pipes
The Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit contains Superfast Steel Epoxy Putty, CrackSeal Sealant, SplitFill Epoxy Adhesive, Wrap & Seal Pipe Burst Tape and SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandages.
Superfast Steel is used to seal small holes and cracks in pipework. The required amount of putty is mixed by hand until it turns a uniform colour. It is then pushed into the crack, where it hardens in around five minutes to fill the damage.
CrackSeal Sealant is used for long cracks and splits in cast iron pipework. CrackSeal is extruded from the cartridge directly into the crack using a standard sealant gun (not supplied with the Kit) until the gap is filled. CrackSeal sets almost instantly even on wet surfaces.
SplitFill Epoxy seals cracks and longitudinal splits in plastic drain and waste pipes. The adhesive is mixed before being spread over the split and the surrounding repair area using a spatula. It will enter the split in the pipe and cure within five minutes, acting as a permanent gap filler.
Wrap & Seal is used for emergency repairs where a significant amount of water is leaking through, such as a drainpipe stack repair taking place whilst it is raining.
The self-fusing waterproof repair tape stretches by 300% to provide pressure over the crack. Once wrapped around the pipe, it amalgamates to form a solid rubber band.
After the crack in the pipework has been sealed using one of the above methods, the repair is completed by overwrapping with a SylWrap Bandage.
SylWrap is a fibreglass tape impregnated with a water-activated resin, which sets rock hard in minutes as it is wrapped and smoothed around a pipe.
Once cured, it provides an impact resistant, protective layer over the initial sealant for a permanent, reinforced repair.
Superfast Steel, Wrap & Seal and SylWrap HD all have WRAS Approval, meaning they are certified as safe to repair pipework carrying drinking water.
There are four different variations of the Drain & Waste Pipe Repair Kit. Each Kit contains different SylWrap Bandage sizes for the repair of different sized pipes based on standard cast iron diameters.
