Leak Sealants

Sylmasta Leak Sealants seal holes and cracks on leaking pipes, forming the first stage of the four-step Sylmasta Pipe Refurbishment System process.

For live leak repairs where water pressure cannot be turned off, use Wrap & Seal Pipe Burst Tape. Wrap & Seal is made from self-fusing silicone and stretches by three times its length.

When wrapped around a pipe, it fuses to form a solid rubber band over the leak area, providing a repair that is temperature resistant up to 200°C and WRAS approved for use on pipes carrying drinking water.

For live leak repairs to pipework in excess of 150mm diameter, SylPad Pressure Resistance Multiplier used alongside Wrap & Seal increases the pressure resistance of a tape by up to three times.

When pressure can be turned off, use an epoxy putty. Sylmasta formulate several putties which can be used as pipe sealants. Superfast Copper is used for domestic and smaller pipework, Superfast Steel for industrial pipework, and Superfast Plastic for all types of plastic pipe.

Superfast Titanium has been specially formulated for extreme temperature resistance up to 280°C. Superfast Aqua Potable Water enables very high adhesion to wet surfaces and in underwater conditions.

All Superfast putties offer a fast working time and come in an easy-to-use 114g stick format; just cut off the amount of putty required, knead by hand and apply to the pipe.

Sylmasta AB Original has a longer work time of up to two hours. This allows more putty to be mixed and applied before curing for larger, more complex tasks. It cures underwater and has high chemical resistance.  AB Original is supplied in either a 200g stick.

For the repair of longitudinal splits in cast iron, metal or concrete-lined pipework, CrackSeal Sealant can be extruded directly into the crack. It will set almost instantly and adheres to wet surfaces.

Once you have selected your primary sealant, you move onto stage two of the Sylmasta Pipe Refurbishment System – Damage Repair.
