Description
Sylmasta Non-Flammable Degreaser is a high performance degreaser which thoroughly cleans metal and plastic parts quickly before bonding or repair.
It is used to remove oil, grease, grit, dust adhesive residue, resins, traces of sandblasting and other contaminates from surfaces including steel, aluminium, titanium, magnesium and zinc.
Non-Flammable Degreaser is also compatible with a wide range of plastics and elastomers at room temperature. When working with such materials, testing should be carried out prior to full exposure.
The non-flammable composition means it possesses zero ozone depletion potential. This makes it a viable alternative to degreasers which come with human health and environmental risks.
It has a very low boiling point, is fast-drying and leaves no residue. It has good solvency power and excellent cleaning performance. It is colourless in appearance and has only a slight odour.
How to clean parts and surfaces using Sylmasta Non-Flammable Degreaser
Sylmasta Non-Flammable Degreaser is supplied in 500g tins. It is applied to surfaces requiring cleaning using a brush or swab as the final stage of preparation, following the removal of paint, rust and grim using abrasives.
Once applied, Degreaser should be left for a few minutes to allow the solvent to lift and dissolve soluble contaminants.
Excess Degreaser is then wiped away using a clean paper towel or another absorbent, non-contaminating material. If tenacious deposits remain, these are removed using fibre pads or a stiff bristle brush.
Non-Flammable Degreaser is recommended for cleaning surfaces prior to application of Sylmasta repair products including Industrial Metal, Industrial Metal Rapid, Titanium Supergrade HT, WearShield and Liquid Metal.
