Sylmasta AB Epoxy Putty

Sylmasta AB Epoxy Putty is our original, general purpose epoxy putty suitable for the repair and bonding of all materials. It is ceramic-filled, making it harder wearing than other putties. Because Sylmasta manufacture AB Epoxy Putty at our production plant in the United Kingdom, we can offer further customisations to properties including colour and cure time based on client needs.

There are two standard versions of AB Epoxy Putty. AB Original has a two-hour work time, offering longer to handle the putty. This is useful for complex applications or in warm environments, where there is a concern the putty may cure before it is properly applied.

AB Original is supplied in 200g sticks or as a two-part putty in white, black or grey. The stick combines resin and hardener, removing the need to measure out components. The user simply cuts off the amount of putty required and kneads it by hand.

Where AB Original is supplied with Part A and Part B in separate tubs, it allows greater control over the mixing process and putty properties by enabling mix ratios to be altered.

AB Rapid 5 Minute is a faster version with a five minute work time available in white or black. The accelerated cure of AB Rapid means it cannot be used underwater and it offers less chemical resistance compared to AB Original.

Additional information about Sylmasta AB Epoxy Putty

AB Original Epoxy Putty offers excellent protection against corrosion, is chemically resistant, and bonds and repairs underwater. AB Rapid 5 Minute offers good chemical resistance but will not bond or repair underwater.

Once cured, AB Epoxy Putty can be tapped, drilled, screwed, sawed, machined, ground, filed or painted. It does not rust, shrink or pull away. Unused portions of epoxy putty stays fresh for future use when saved in its original packaging. AB Epoxy Putty contains no solvents or VOC’s, is non-flammable and releases no noxious fumes.

All AB Epoxy Putty is made at our production plant in the United Kingdom, using the latest epoxy putty manufacturing technology. We are the only company in Europe currently making epoxy putty sticks rather than importing, allowing us to offer guaranteed fresh product and a reliable supply chain to customers.

Manufacturing our own putties also enables us to produce custom formulations. We can adjust cure times and colours to meet client needs. Previous customisations include matching epoxy putty to a specific brick colour and producing a huge quantity of AB Original coloured to RAL 7307 for a restoration project.

For repair of pipes and fittings carrying drinking water, please use the Superfast Epoxy Putty Stick range instead of AB Epoxy Putty. Superfast Steel, Superfast Copper and Superfast Aqua PW all have WRAS approval, meaning they are certified as safe to use with potable water.
