Description
Sylmasta Non-Flammable Release Agent is a high performance release agent which stops epoxies and urethanes from adhering to parts and surfaces.
It is used in the rebuilding of stripped threads, repair of damaged keyways and as a mould release agent when casting new or replacement parts.
Non-Flammable Release Agent can be applied to all metals, alloys, porous castings and most plastics. It will prevent any polymer from sticking.
It is made from a unique blend of petroleum waxes in a non-flammable solvent with a very low flash point. No mixing is required, making it easy to use and apply.
How to prevent epoxy sticking with Non-Flammable Release Agent
Sylmasta Non-Flammable Release Agent is supplied in 125ml tins. Before application, surfaces should be free of paint, rust and grime. Sylmasta Non-Flammable Degreaser can be used for thorough cleaning after surface preparation.
Release Agent should be shaken well before use. Generous amounts are then poured onto a clean, lint-free cloth.
The part or surface which will come into contact with the epoxy or urethane is lightly rubbed with the cloth, leaving a thin and shiny coat.
This coat should be allowed to dry before moving onto the stage of the application involving the epoxy or urethane.
Release Agent can be used alongside Industrial Metal Rapid 5 Minute Epoxy Paste when rebuilding threads. It will prevent the epoxy paste from bonding the thread inside the bolthole.
It is applied over keys and hubs when rebuilding a damaged keyway with Titanium Supergrade HT. It can also be used for coating the inside of a mould before Liquid Metal Epoxy Coating is poured inside.
Release Agent can be purchased as an individual item or as part of the Sylmasta Metal Repair Kit. The Kit contains a range of products including those epoxy pastes and coatings listed above for a variety of applications including repairing cracked metalwork and worn shafts.
