EFLEX Liquid Rubber Rapid 5 Minute is a tough, flexible and fast working epoxy repair compound which sets in under five minutes to form a smooth, hard rubber material.
It is used to repair areas of wear or damage on rubber equipment and for casting replacement components, such as shaft couplings.
Liquid Rubber Rapid creates abrasion resistant and noise reducing linings. It encapsulates parts including electrical components, protecting them against mechanical or water influence. It can also be used to fill expansion joints and makes flexible moulds and patterns.
The low viscosity of EFLEX results in a system with excellent adhesion properties, whilst retaining the flow properties necessary to fill intricate units.
Thanks to its formulation, Liquid Rubber Rapid has none of the problems like sedimentation and moisture sensitivity associated with filled polyurethane systems. It sets to a black colour to appear uniform with rubber.
How to use Liquid Rubber Rapid 5 Minute Epoxy Compound to create and repair rubber parts and equipment
Before applying Liquid Rubber Rapid, surfaces should be cleaned of oil, grease and dirt using Sylmasta Non-Flammable Degreaser.
The application area should be roughened up by abrasive blasting or grinding with a coarse wheel or abrasive disk pad.

Liquid Rubber Rapid should be mix and applied as soon as the preparation process is completed. Part A and Part B are mixed in a 1:1 ratio and stirred vigorously for around one minute.
To repair worn and damaged rubber parts, Liquid Rubber Rapid is poured into holes and tears to a thickness of at least 3mm to provide sufficient strength. It will cure to seamlessly fill the damage with a new rubber surface.
When creating new or replacement parts, Liquid Rubber Rapid is poured into a mould box coated with Sylmasta Non-Flammable Release Agent to prevent sticking. It will cure to make an accurate copy.
For lining applications and noise reduction, Liquid Rubber Rapid is applied via brush to surfaces to a thickness of at least 1.5mm. Applying multiple layers will build up a thicker, longer lasting coating with greater wear resistance.
Liquid Rubber Rapid has a work time of five minutes at 25°C. It is tack free at 30 minutes. Equipment can go back into light service after two hours and regular service once a full cure is achieved after 24 hours.
